TONGUE INJURY

If one find day you see that your dog is bleeding profusely from the mouth and it is due to a cut in his tongue, consider it an emergency, though it might appear to be a minor wound. The tongue is very moist and soft and makes it difficult for the blood to clot. If the cut is deep, there might occur severe blood loss which could eventually lead to the death of your dog. Sounds dreadful, I know, but you must know the gravity of the problem. If possible, take a big cotton flat, dip it in chilled water and put it held over the tongue, till you reach the vet's clinic.
