SEIZURES
The condition when the dog gets an involuntary, sudden and recurring disturbance in the normal functioning of the nervous system on account of some metabolic disorders in the body is called a seizure. It is commonly known as a fit.
Though the exact causes for a fit are not yet fully known, the ones which might lead to such a state are low blood sugar, liver diseases, impaired blood circulation and kidney trouble. It is very rare that there is an immediate loss of life, howsoever intense the seizure may be. Nonetheless, recurrent seizures might result in epilepsy
- a state when a transient disturbance of the brain function may lead to frequent faints.
The treatment lies with the veterinarian and it is a totally curable disease. In certain cases, the treatment takes time and proper medication is needed. But the desired results do come forth.
