MANGE
It is an external infection on the skin and is caused by mites. There are three kinds of them.
Ear Mange : - The cause is a tiny mite producing a brown coloured wax in abnormal quantity in the ear. Treatment is easy and any druggist can be consulted.
Sarcoptic Mange :- The mite which causes it looks like the younger sister of a spider. The symptoms are persistent irritation on the skin and redness over the affected area. In certain cases, skin inflammation is also possible. Treatment is simple and any chemist can help.
Demododetic Mange :- The affected areas are head and forelegs, although other skin parts also can be affected. Do explain the symptoms to the vet or the chemist so that he can distinguish between various kinds of mites. He will give the medicine accordingly. These mites can affect humans as well. So wash hands after applying the medicine or touching the affected area.
